Chief Executive Officer Role

As Chief Executive Officer:
• You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of MPA
• You will be accountable for driving and delivering the strategic, operational, and fund raising priorities as set by the Board.
• You will be a dynamic and inspirational leader, with the ability to engage and develop lasting, positive relationship with the stakeholder family.
• Your commercial acumen will be matched by your skill in identifying and then capitalising on opportunities, finding innovative solutions and thinking “outside the square”.
• You will need to demonstrate skills relevant to managing and growing like-sized business or charities.
• You will have the skill to navigate through complex issues prioritising, managing and delivering outcomes that fulfil the strategic, operational, and fundraising priorities for MPA.

Prior experience in the non-for-profit sector, including cancer related charities, will be highly regarded, however is not considered essential.
 
Staffing structure

The Chief Executive Officer reports to the Board, through the Chairman. MPA has lean paid staff structure of approximately ~4 part time employees (Business Manager, Patient Support Manager, Business Development/Fundraising Manager and Communications Manager). Volunteers fulfil additional management roles and volunteer patient facilitators oversee ~12 support groups throughout Australia and represent MPA in various forums.

Location and Hours

MPA is located at the Wesley Hospital, Brisbane. The nature of the position will require some weekend work and domestic and international travel from time to- time to attend scheduled events.

The position will require domestic and international travel from time to time. Currently the role is 3 days FTE – flexible working hours can be negotiated.

An attractive salary package structured to attract high quality candidates will be available, dependent upon skill level and experience.
