UQ Advancement comprises of three portfolios – Advancement Services, Development and Philanthropy, and Alumni and Community Relations. The Advancement Services portfolio provides infrastructure and services that support Advancement work across UQ to ensure success in philanthropic and fundraising efforts. Services include management of Raiser’s Edge, UQ’s corporate constituent relationship management application for Advancement activity, and its official register of alumni, donors, and gifts; information management; reporting and data analysis; research and prospect management; management of the University’s philanthropic financial processes; and business operations.

About the role

The role: The Manager, Gift Services is responsible for leading and managing the delivery of services that facilitate and support effective acceptance, administration and stewardship of philanthropic gifts and Advancement-related sponsorships by UQ.

The position plays an advisory role in the acceptance of gifts and manages all aspects of gift processing, receipting and pledge management. The position also oversees the reconciliation of philanthropic income between the fundraising system (Raiser’s Edge) and the finance system (UniFi); distribution of philanthropic funds across the University; and philanthropic financial reporting. 

The person: To be successful in this role, you will have a genuine interest in philanthropy and its impact on society; proven leadership and team management skills, in a client-centric services environment, with demonstrated ability to effect change and build team culture; sound understanding of accounting principles, including the ability to analyse financial information and prepare financial reports; sound knowledge of philanthropic fundraising programs, and the processes and procedures associated with gift administration; experience using Raiser’s Edge or a similar fundraising system; demonstrated experience developing and implementing business processes and procedures; and proven ability to develop and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with a range of clients and internal stakeholders in a complex organisational environment. 

You will hold postgraduate qualifications (or progress towards postgraduate qualifications) in accounting, business administration or management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience. Experience working within higher education Advancement or the not-for-profit sector will be highly valued. Detailed section criteria can be found in the Position Description. 

Remuneration: This is a full-time, continuing appointment HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range AUD$92,811 – $104,214 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range AUD$108,589 – $121,930 p.a.).
