About the role
Down Syndrome Association of Queensland (DSAQ) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead and grow the organisation into the future and guide the organisation through the significant changes in the disability sector.
The role is initially for a 0.6 – 1.0 FTE position and, while the CEO’s priority will be to ensure that DSAQ delivers against its core Influencer & Policy roles, the CEO is also expected to contribute to securing additional funds and pursuing commercial opportunities to enable the organisation to fulfil its objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Chief Executive Officer role can be a challenging and complex role, which requires the appropriate management of time to prioritise competing responsibilities.
The key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Adhering to DSAQ governance protocols and guidelines
- Strategically and operationally preparing DSAQ for the significant changes under the NDIS
- Collaborating successfully with other State and member associations
- Building the profile of DSAQ
- Positively influencing Government agencies, NGO’s and other stakeholders
- Overseeing general organisational responsibilities
Note that this position is based from our head office at Stafford, Brisbane. Travel at times will be required.
