About the role

Lifeline Western Sydney – full time position, Parramatta location.

Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.

About the Role

The Education and Training officer is responsible for providing training and assessment for students enrolled to become Telephone Crisis Supporters at Lifeline Western Sydney. The applicant should be familiar with the National Training Package for Crisis Supporters. (Crisis Supporter Workplace Training, CSWT) and be familiar with all aspects of the course, and be available during the evening and occasionally on weekends.

Essential Criteria:
•Currently accredited as a Lifeline Crisis Supporter
•Currently hold a TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
•Demonstrated experience in training and assessment
•Demonstrated superior communication and presentation skills
•Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and supervision as required

Desirable Criteria:
•Degree in Psychology or Counselling
•Accreditation as an ASIST and/or Mental Health First Aid Trainer
•Experience as a Group Facilitator for the Crisis Supporter Workplace Training course
•Demonstrated experience in the mental health industry as a counsellor

Successful appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory National Criminal History check and the candidate’s provision of a valid Working With Children Check.
