The St Lucia campus rests on land gifted through the Mayne siblings and the School of Veterinary Science continues to use farmland at Pinjarra Hills donated to the University in the early 1920s. UQ Advancement comprises of three portfolios – Advancement Services, Development and Philanthropy, and Alumni and Community Relations. The Advancement Services portfolio provides infrastructure and services that support Advancement work across UQ to ensure success in philanthropic and fundraising efforts. Services include management of Raiser’s Edge, UQ’s corporate constituent relationship management application for Advancement activity, and its official register of alumni, donors, and gifts; information management; reporting and data analysis; research and prospect management; management of the University’s philanthropic financial processes; and business operations.
The role: The Business Analyst is responsible for producing quality data, reports and analysis using the Advancement database to support UQ’s engagement, philanthropic and fundraising efforts. In addition, the position supports the advancement community by delivering end user training and documenting user procedures.
The position is part of the Advancement Information Services team.
The person: Applicants must have the right to work in Australia, and should possess a Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related area plus at least three years of relevant experience. You should have demonstrated experience in business analysis, data analysis and reporting in a complex organisational environment. You should also be able to apply requirements gathering/solicitation, modelling and documentation techniques and refine, improve and translate requirements into system designs that meet those requirements. In addition, you should have an understanding of database concepts, data structures, data mapping/modelling and typical data quality and integrity challenges, with a strong ability to provide analytical advice and reporting in a business context is required. You should have excellent communication and customer service skills, must be detail-oriented, creative, eager to learn and self-motivated.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
Remuneration: This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $74,207 – $79,965 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $86,822 – $93,558 p.a.).
