This role will work specifically with Wellways PIR Support Coordinators across the state, to assist program clients to test their eligibility for the NDIS and transition through the planning process or look to other options. It will require some intrastate travel and will also work in partnership with NTSO roles at the other four consortium members.
A demonstrated experience in understanding the barriers experienced by people living with mental ill health, and their families will be required. You have the ability to establish positive partnerships/
linkages including strong and effective operational planning, analytical and communication skills.
What do you need?
- Tertiary Qualifications in a social science or related discipline
- Prior experience and knowledge of the NDIS and its service models
- Demonstrated experience and skills in developing strategic stakeholder relationships and working within complex systems.
- A current valid Driver’s License and ability to undertake some
intrastate travel - Satisfactory Police Records Check and Working with Children
- Check, prior to commencement
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Transition Support Officer (NTSO) will support Wellways Support Coordinators across the state to transition clients into the NDIS. This will include supporting Support Coordinators, liaising with the NDIA and working with PIR staff at other organisations. This will be one of five similar roles across the state, with an NTSO based at each of the five Partners in Recovery consortium members. These five positions will act as a team for the
purpose of development and support, whilst still working primarily for their employer organisation.
The NTSO will be directly reporting to the Area Manager, Northern Tasmania, with a close working relationship to other Consortium NDIS Transition Support Officers, and the State Manager PIR.
