About the role

To continue the growth and success of this multi layered organisation they need to welcome to their team an Executive General Manager with the experience, capability and talent to lead the human resources, learning, culture and safety functions.

As an integral member of the Executive Management Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the ideal candidate will be an accomplished and highly skilled executive with significant experience leading a team of seasoned People and Culture professionals in a national, multi-site and jurisdictional environment. You will have demonstrated experience in implementing and managing contemporary industrial relations frameworks and strong experience in workforce planning in large and highly complex environments.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement innovative and contemporary People and Culture frameworks with a customer-centric approach
  • Lead organisational transformation projects to deliver financially sustainable customer centred business processes and future service delivery capacity
  • Deliver extensive workforce planning activities in a highly complex and diverse industrial environment
  • Provide high level advice and support to the CEO and Board in relation to all People and Culture matters
  • Lead the development and delivery of the organisations safety framework, policies and strategic initiatives
  • Participate as an active member of the Executive Management Team
  • Develop talent acquisition, attraction and retention strategies with a focus on employer brand
  • Operate as the organisations values and culture champion, responsible for embedding these behaviours across the business to deliver a culture of success centred around their customers and people
  • Oversee the implementation of various People and Culture initiatives including reward and recognition, well-being initiatives and leadership development programs
  • Implement and streamline business policies, processes and systems specific to people management

 

Skills & Experience required

  • Strong transformational change experience in the areas of culture, workforce strategy and innovation
  • Substantial experience in providing high level strategic and operational leadership within a large and complex organisation
  • Appropriate Tertiary qualifications in Business, Human Resources or a related discipline
  • An ability to work collaboratively with Executive peers and demonstrate a united approach to leadership
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in staff development, management and leadership initiatives
  • Profit centre management within a large, multi-layered team
  • Strong commercial business acumen with a commercial mindset
