About the organisation
The Bendigo-based Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre (a program of ARC Justice) operates primarily in the Loddon Campaspe region (LGAs of Greater Bendigo, Loddon, Campaspe, Central Goldfields, Macedon Ranges and Mount Alexander).
ARC Justice is an independent, not for-profit, human rights organisation. Our programs deliver accessible legal services, tenancy advice and support to those in our community in the greatest need. We deliver community education and advocate for systemic change that enhances the rights of rural and regional Victorians. We recognise that housing and legal issues do not occur in isolation and we work with local partners to ensure a whole-of-person approach to our work
About the role
Manager and Principal Lawyer – full time – Fixed Term (Maternity Leave -12 months)
Are you a mature and dynamic lawyer and leader, passionate about social justice and want to work in one of Victoria’s most culturally vibrant and beautiful regional areas?
LCCLC services include:
- Legal Assistance (information, referral, advice and casework)
- Legal Education
- Policy and Law Reform Work
This role is an exciting opportunity to lead an established and growing Community Legal Centre in regional Victoria. With your experience in providing legal advice and casework in the areas of community law, you will bring with you a capacity to engage in the mentoring and supervision of staff and volunteer lawyers and to foster a collaborative team environment.
As well as an attractive salary, 3 days ex gratia between Christmas & New Year’s Day, salary packaging and accommodation and meal/entertainment packaging is also available. Relocation assistance is also on offer for the right candidate.
Just 1¾ hours from Melbourne by freeway and regularly serviced by train via Kyneton and Castlemaine, LCCLC is based in one of regional Victoria’s most desirable localities, featuring excellent schools, health facilities and cultural experiences.
