About the organisation
The Shepparton-based Goulburn Valley Community Legal Centre (a program of ARC Justice) operates primarily in the Goulburn Valley region (LGAs of Greater Shepparton, Mitchell, Strathbogie, Benalla, Mansfield and Moira).
ARC Justice is an independent, not for-profit, human rights organisation. Our programs deliver accessible legal services, tenancy advice and support to those in our community in the greatest need. We deliver community education and advocate for systemic change that enhances the rights of rural and regional Victorians. We recognise that housing and legal issues do not occur in isolation and we work with local partners to ensure a whole-of-person approach to our work.
GVCLC services include:

About the role
Community Lawyer – 0.6 EFT (3 days per week – Contract until December 2019)
Are you seeking an opportunity to apply your legal skills in a diverse and stimulating environment that enables access to justice for some of regional Victoria’s most vulnerable community members? We have the role for you!
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with demonstrated experience in legal advice and casework in the areas of community law, particularly child protection, family violence and family law. You will be joining an established and cohesive team that has a strong culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
As well as an attractive salary, 3 days ex gratia between Christmas and New Year’s Day, salary packaging and accommodation and meal/entertainment packaging is also available. Relocation assistance is also on offer for the right candidate.
In addition to possessing the qualifications necessary to practicing law in Victoria, applicants must have a desire to pursue a career in public interest and community law and have an unrestricted driver’s license.
Just over 2 hours north of Melbourne by freeway and regularly serviced by train via Seymour, GVCLC is based in one of regional Victoria’s most desirable localities, featuring excellent schools, health facilities and cultural experiences.
