- nurtures RMIT alumni and stewards RMIT’s philanthropic activity,
- leads and coordinates RMIT’s global education partnerships,
- manages global experience opportunities for RMIT students, staff and alumni.

The Role & Your Responsibilities
As part of a team of senior advisors in Alumni & Philanthropy, the Senior Advisor, Philanthropy is responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of philanthropic gifts. Playing a critical role in the Philanthropy team, you will build strong external relationships that lead to the securement of major donations to RMIT. The successful applicant will nurture internal relationships with colleagues in Alumni & Philanthropy as well as the wider University to identify philanthropic opportunities and facilitate inspiring experiences for potential donors. Working closely with the Manager, Philanthropy, the role is also responsible for helping to build a positive and embracing culture of philanthropy amongst internal and external stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
As the successful candidate, you will have solid development and fundraising experience in a major organisation with demonstrable success, including cultivation, gift closing and stewardship. You will also have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels. Proven relationship building skills, and the ability to work with others will be imperative to your success in this role. An understanding of the higher education sector and fundraising environment is highly desirable.
