In Australia our Wildlife Land Trust connects more than 500 sanctuaries protecting in excess of 60,000 hectares of wildlife habitat. Our scientific nomination program has seen over 70 threatened species and millions of hectares of wildlife habitat protected under Australian law. We continually advocate for improvements to those laws and for their effective enforcement. We also champion protection for imperilled wildlife at a global level through international treaties. When necessary HSI will stand up for animals in court. HSI has a priority campaign to protect sharks
About the role
Marine Campaigner – Humane Society International Passionate about protecting marine species? Do you have a background in marine science and a drive to change the world to save sharks, dolphins, whales and other marine life? Humane Society International is looking for a talented and energetic marine scientist to join our campaign team at our office in Sydney’s beautiful northern beaches. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the world’s most effective organisations working to save threatened species and protect the environment. If you have a strong scientific background, a good understanding of environmental legislation and are an excellent communicator determined to make our oceans safer for marine animals then this could be your dream job.
