About the organisation
Volunteering Central Coast (VCC) is a member-based local not-for-profit association that supports and resources volunteers, prospective volunteers, and volunteer-involving organisations. VCC currently manages three government-funded programs that support voluntary participation and community development.
About the role
The VCC Board is seeking to appoint a part-time Volunteer Program Officer to build on the strong 30 year history of our provision of volunteer support services, and participate in their ongoing development to ensure a sustainable place in the volunteer involving sector. We are looking for a level-headed, skilled administrator for the operational activities of our Volunteer Program; coordinating the promotion, orientation and recruitment of prospective volunteers from the public for the volunteer-involving organisations here on the Central Coast. The role is responsible for supporting the organisation’s objectives through advocating and upholding the National Volunteer Management Standards across the sector to ensure that the volunteering experience is beneficial to all involved.
About you
You will be a person of high emotional intelligence and be able to demonstrate success at an operational level. You understand the importance of building professional stakeholder relationships, strong teams and engaged members.
Your energy and passion for building organisational capacity will be underpinned by a sound understanding of human resource management.
Essential criteria:
• Community Services, Social Services or similar qualification (Diploma or above)
• A minimum of 4 years program management experience preferably in the community sector
• Established high level human resource capability including recruitment, retention and supervision skills.
• Sound understanding of the Community Services Sector operational requirements, workplace legislation and stakeholder engagement strategies
• Demonstrated high level computer programming knowledge and skills in systems development, maintenance and implementation.
Desirable criteria:
• Experience in coordinating a volunteer program and managing all aspects of volunteer involvement
• Training and/or presentation experience
