About the role
Liberty Foundation is a new not-for-profit that facilitates the rehoming of animals from research establishments; and is spearheading the move to establish an industry-supported centre for this purpose.
It is envisaged that the organisation will receive rats, mice, guinea pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs. However there are a wide range of animals utilised by research establishments that could also be available for rehoming.
The organisation is just starting up and is looking for interested individuals who are willing to volunteer their skills and expertise to getting Liberty Foundation up and running. It is currently based in NSW and aims to operate in NSW and Victoria. Volunteers from any part of Australia and welcome to get involved.
Volunteers would need to work in their own space and be internet enabled with a reliable computer and mobile phone.
Liberty Foundation is currently seeking volunteers to assist with the following tasks:
. review of organisation structure, rules, procedures and contracts
. advice on insurance and relevant legislation/codes
. advice on accounting including requirements as a Deductible Gift Recipient
. development work on website and associated social media accounts
. assistance with strategic planning and procedures
If you are able to assist with any or all of the tasks above, in a professional capacity, please forward an application as soon as possible.
We encourage applications for anyone with experience in animal law or working in animal shelters with companion animals and/or rabbits and rodents.
