About the role

Examinations Officer

Based at the top end of town we are within easy walking distance to trams and Parliament Station.

The Role (0.8 FTE)

The Examinations team is responsible for the coordination and administration of specific RACS examinations which form a component of the training program for doctors training to become consultant surgeons.

Reporting to the Manager, Examinations the Examination Officer will ensure the effective delivery of examinations by ensuring the provision of efficient and effective coordination and administration of examinations for the Surgical Education Training (SET) program and other examination related tasks.

Using your excellent event management skills and superior administration skills, you will provide pre and on-site coordination of examinations ensuring operations and processes are delivered in accordance with RACS policies and procedures. Through identifying areas for improvement and working closely with Examiners and governing Committees, you will ensure the examinations continue to be delivered to the highest standard.

This role is being offered on a 2 year fixed term contract. It is a part-time role 0.8 FTE (28 hours per week) and we are flexible about how these hours are completed.

As the ideal candidate you will have:

  • Experience in coordinating or managing large scale events with the ability to prioritise a diverse workload, manage conflicting deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • High level attention to detail, accuracy and sense of urgency
  • Demonstrable experience in working collaboratively across multiple stakeholders and the ability to develop relationships at all levels to influence and drive key outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to produce appropriate correspondence, reports, agendas and minutes
