The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) is the new external dispute resolution scheme that deals with complaints about financial products and services.
A not-for-profit, non-government organisation, AFCA resolves complaints in a fair, independent and efficient manner. Our service is free to the public, with the cost of running the service being met by our member financial firms.
AFCA has offices in Melbourne and Sydney, but our service is accessible to all Australians.
About the role
About the opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join us on a fixed term contract until 30 June 2021. Working in the People and Development team, you will have an immediate impact on enabling AFCA to achieve our business goals and be a key player in the implementation of our business plan. As a brand-new organisation, there are a number of strategic objectives for the organisation being directly aligned to People and Development, with a strong focus on change management.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – People and Development, you will act in a true business partner role providing the full suite of human resources functions including leadership development, talent and performance management, succession planning, employee relations and Work Health and Safety programs. In addition, you will also be accountable for key projects and initiatives.
You will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior and executive managers, regarding the provision of advice on employee and industrial relations issues / dispute resolution, change management and policy matters / projects as they arise.
About you
You have a passion for Human Resources and will be able to demonstrate your skills across a range of human resource disciplines through your prior experience and HR specific qualifications.
Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will be highly regarded and will assist you to interact proactively with all levels of the organisation. You will be a highly focussed and motivated team player who thrives on challenges and excels at problem solving and critical thinking.
High attention to detail, superior time management and organisational skills and the ability to take ownership of the role are essential attributes, as is the need to be flexible and adaptable to change.
