About the opportunity

The Sydney Peace Foundation is looking for an energetic, visionary leader to strengthen our established peace prize program and expand our reach, impact and sustainability. The role calls for someone who is passionate about social change, and wants to make a difference in promoting peace, justice and universal human rights. If you’re a strategic thinker and relationship builder who loves developing impactful media and community campaigns, shaping / curating major public events, and building partnerships with other civil society organisations, please get in touch.

About you

The University values courage and creativity; openness and engagement; inclusion and diversity; and respect and integrity. As such, we are looking for a Foundation Manager who can:

• Translate strategic plans into impactful programs, including large-scale public engagement programs;
• Influence, negotiate, and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and partners across the public, private and community sectors, including donors;
• Manage the office, staff, and accounts of the Sydney Peace Foundation; and
• Demonstrate a commitment and passion for peace with justice, human rights and nonviolence.

The Sydney Peace Foundation showcases solutions that prove peace with justice is possible. For more than 20 years, the Foundation has awarded the annual Sydney Peace Prize, Australia’s only international prize for peace, elevating the voices of some of the world’s most effective and courageous peacemakers. Past recipients include Joseph Stiglitz, Naomi Klein, Muhammad Yunus, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Noam Chomsky and Mary Robinson.

The Foundation is a not-for-profit Foundation of the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
