Purpose of position | Develop, manage and implement strategic multi-channel communications strategies to raise awareness of the Landcare, Coastcare and Junior Landcare brands. |

Key External Contacts | Media, corporate and government partners, landcare groups, schools and youth groups and all stakeholders in the landcare community.

Key Internal Contacts | All teams including marketing and communications team, fundraising, corporate partnerships, grants and landcare services.

Key Accountabilities | · Plan, develop and implement communications and PR activities to support Landcare Australia’s campaigns and events · Generate ideas, create content and manage editorial for Landcare Australia’s Landcare in Forces magazine and company newsletters · Develop and build relationships with media contacts and keep informed of trends and activities that impact landcare · Research, write and edit topical and relevant articles and case studies publishing across print and digital publications and blogs, annual reports and newsletters, and pitch to media · Prepare the production of flyers, promotional videos and photography · Assist with fundraising communications, events and government partner communications activities · Prepare speaking notes for TV or radio interviews for Landcare Australia spokespeople where applicable · Collate and analyse media monitoring reports for campaigns or as required · Support the communications and PR activities for corporate and government partnerships · Manage the delivery of activities to associated timelines, budgets and KPIs · Other duties to support the marketing and communications team as required. |
Skills and Experience | Proactive communications and PR professional with at least two years of experience with tertiary qualifications in public relations, media or communications.
Essential · Experience developing, managing and implementing multi-channel campaigns. · Competency in a wide range of communications tools, especially media releases, media briefs, articles, presentations and social media content. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills including proven ability to create and write clear, engaging and inspiring articles. · Proven ability to proactively manage the delivery of multiple projects at any one time. · Confidence and ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders including media · Understanding of the Australian media landscape · Ability to deal effectively with requests and enquiries from a variety of stakeholders from the landcare community across Australia.
Highly Desirable · Sound knowledge and interest in current environmental issues · Experience in the not-for-profit sector · Existing media contacts in the environmental or agricultural sector · Experience in brand management · Knowledge of fundraising or charity promotion · Campaign management skills.
