About the organisation
The National Library of Australia is the custodian of a rich collection reflecting the people and culture that shape Australia and Australians.
The Library’s key challenge over the next decade is to harness the benefits of new technologies to provide the Australian community with greater access to its own extraordinary collection and the information resources of the world. Through its award-winning digital platforms, and the sheer scale of content it offers online, the Library is well placed to unlock its collection, and the opportunity for new knowledge it brings, into the next 50 years.
In 2018 the National Library Council undertook a fundraising and governance review, resulting in a comprehensive fundraising strategy and case for support for its ambitious Treasured Voices campaign.
About the role
The Council now seeks a Director of Philanthropy who will be responsible for driving and delivering the Treasured Voices campaign, within the framework of the Council-endorsed Fundraising Strategy.
You will bring demonstrated leadership experience in a senior fundraising role within a not for profit environment, preferably from within the cultural or higher education sector. Your strategic mind-set and personal authority will enable you build engagement, internal capacity and to instil a culture of philanthropy and best practice across the Library as a whole. Your proven track record in securing major gifts combined with your ability to lead, develop and coach a team will ensure your success in this role.
