About the role
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals with a passion for supporting people with a disability to achieve their goals, build independence, and develop life skills within our accommodation services. Utilising your experience working with people with a disability, you will assist them to implement strategies to reach their goals and aspirations.
Working as part of a motivated team, you will provide a positive, constructive and supportive environment that empowers people with disabilities to reach their own potential. This is the perfect opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of many!
What do you need to bring?
- A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
- Experience working in disability services – with the capacity to work creatively with people with a disability and their families
- An understanding of and appreciation for person centred support
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- A strong focus on accountability and reports concerns/incidents or breaches in practice
- A current First Aid Certificate
What can you expect to be doing?
- Assisting people with a disability in all aspects of life, including personal care, domestic and daily living support, budgeting, shopping, cooking and community participation.
- Support NDIS customers to achieve their goals through fostering independence, choice and control
- Involve family members in the planning and review of services as guided by the wishes of the individuals living with a disability
- Assist people to become more independent and encourage the person to make their own choices in their own lives
- Work closely with team members and be part of our excellent team culture
