Eastern Domestic Violence Services (EDVOS) is a not-for-profit specialist family violence service in Melbourne’s eastern metropolitan region. We provide an integrated range of support and services to empower women and children who are responding to family violence. We operate within a human rights framework and our focus is on supporting the safety of women and children and the accountability of perpetrators.

EDVOS hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9am until 8pm and Saturday from 9am until 5pm. This position would be expected to be available to work on a rotating roster across those hours of operation.
Salary for these positions will be aligned with SCHADS Level 5 + 9.5% super.

About the Opportunity
EDVOS is committed to system reform, including integration. A component of our work is to respond to referrals from Victoria Police. The Men’s Intake Program primarily deals with men referred from Victoria Police following family violence incidents and has the potential to increase safety for women and children by offering an opportunity to men to take responsibility for their behaviour.
The Men’s Enhanced Intake worker will provide timely and active telephone response to men referred for using violent and controlling behaviour against women and children, and refer to men’s behaviour change programs and other men’s services.
Essential to your success will be:
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the social and gendered context of family violence
- Commitment to and practice of feminist principles and values
- Experience and skills in undertaking risk assessments and evaluation of risks
- Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills, excellent verbal communication and well- developed written and computer literacy skills
- A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or related field, and/or extensive experience in the family violence sector.
- Experience working with men who use violence is favourable, not essential
