About the role
Music Australia is a not for profit national umbrella body and champion for music. We work independently and with members and partners to stimulate and promote the value of music, school music education, sector professional development and public engagement. We provide advocacy and information services to strengthen music in Australia, and run projects including an annual industry Roundtable and Australia’s largest school music program Music: Count Us In (MCUI).
Music Australia is seeking to strengthen its Board of Directors by making some new appointments. We are currently seeking nominations from suitably qualified people, ideally with expertise in one of the following areas:
- Business development, sponsorship and/or philanthropy (ideally in a music context);
- Primary school music teaching (ideally as someone actively teaching, and who has experience with the MCUI program);
- State government relations.
Nominees will ideally have a general understanding of not for profit governance. Board meetings will be held quarterly, usually in Sydney, often late afternoon on a week day, but participation via teleconferencing is welcome. Payment is limited to the reimbursement of expenses.
For an informal, confidential, preliminary discussion, please contact Dr Paul Saintilan, CEO, Music Australia via paul@musicaustralia.org.au or 0408 456 055.
Music Australia welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from diverse cultural backgrounds and people with disability.
