About the role
About you
You are looking for a part time role with a job-share arrangement. You have strong communication skills and are able to think and adapt quickly. Working with other project officers you enjoy finding creative solutions to problems, can manage your workload and work collaboratively to reach project goals and outcomes.
You have an interest in projects and research, can write and develop content and implement project plans.
The stuff you need to know
BCA is working on a variety of projects at the moment and we are looking for someone to job-share on our ‘Life Ready’ project. You will be working with other project officers to revamp and deliver content around peer mentoring and leadership. The role is designed for someone who is a self-starter, can work to deadlines and enjoys a challenge. We will require you to occasionally work outside of business hours, so flexibility is important.
Roles and responsibilities
- Research, write and implement project work
- Develop an understanding of the community need and how the project will address this
- Organise and prepare documents and information
- Handle confidential and often sensitive correspondence
- Attend meetings and report on project plans and developments. Produce presentations
- Work with other project officers in planning, preparing and delivering project components
Key Selection Criteria
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Shortlisted candidates will need to be able to demonstrate these skills prior to interview.
- The ability to work collaboratively with staff in a remote environment
- Research, develop and facilitate a range of training and education sessions to people who are blind or vision impaired and may have additional disability on areas including leadership and mentoring
- Facilitate virtual training
- Information and resource production to empower individuals to act in a mentoring capacity and build leadership skills
- Establish relationships, collaborate and engage with relevant teams and stakeholders
- This is a 12 month position with possibility of extension.
- The position has a national focus. The successful applicant can take advantage of flexible remote working arrangements, from either an office space in Melbourne or Sydney, or from home.
- 20 hours per week (some weekend and evening work may be required).
- Salary is under the SCHADS Award.
- It is a requirement that all BCA staff hold a current police check.
