Established in 2020 by the members of Gorman House Arts Centre Inc., Arts Capital is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and registered charity that inherits the 40-year legacy of its predecessor association.
Arts Capital manages two heritage-listed ACT Government arts facilities in Canberra’s inner city - Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres (www.agac.com.au). With more than 40 resident artists and organisations, and more than 200,000 visitors a year, the centres play a vital role in the ACT arts sector.
About the role
The role is one of two Maintenance Officers, within the Facilities team, that provide essential support to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the centres for residents and visitors. The Maintenance Officer must maintain a positive working relationship with A+G colleagues, residents, users and visitors of the Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres’ communities.
The Maintenance Officer is to be well-organised, well-presented, professional and courteous. They will have excellent interpersonal skills.
Working Environment
The Maintenance Officer will work at Gorman Arts Centre and Ainslie Arts Centre, which are ACT Government-owned arts facilities. The majority of the work duties are physical in nature and the position requires a high standard of fitness and mobility. The position involves working inside and outside, at all times of year.
Terms of Engagement
This position is ongoing, starting from the commencement date. It is subject to a six month probation period.
Standard hours of work is 20 hours per week, to be worked over five business days, Monday to Friday.
