Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Communications you will be part of a dynamic and dedicated communications team in a role that will see you take control of developing innovative, engaging and purposeful communications for external, internal and partnership audiences.
You will be responsible for growing and engaging audiences in the scientific breakthroughs and discoveries undertaken by a leading Australian medical research Institute.
An integral part of the team, this role is primarily responsible for media and story content across the website and social media. There will be some writing for internal audiences and publications.
About you
You will need to demonstrate the following
- Tertiary qualifications and substantial relevant experience in communications or a related field.
- Demonstrated excellence in developing and executing creative, results-driven communication strategies that support organisational goals and objectives
- Demonstrated ability to absorb complex information and re-present it simply
- Proven ability in writing and editing for media, website content and social media, with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to identify relevant key points for different audiences
- Ability to complete work to brief and under pressure in a complex environment
- Experience in science or ability to acquire a strong understanding of the issues in science and public health
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
- High-level interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively build sustainable and successful relationships including professional working relationships with the Executive Team.
