About the organisation
“Theater is important to people's lives. If you don't believe this, then you might as well give up.” - Joseph Papp, Shakespeare in the Park
We are an independent theatre company that runs a free summer season of Shakespeare in the Park in Canberra. We do this to make theatre accessible to all and because it's fun and people really love it. We rely on Government Grants and public donations to survive. We are not for profit and may seek charitable status soon.
Rest assured, by taking up this role you will make a difference. Corporate sponsorship has dried up for us and we need to reduce our cost base in order to be able to put on free shows.
You will be a valued member of our team, and we are able to provide you with acknowledgment on our website.
About the role
Seeking a pro-bono auditor to support a fun, purpose-driven, and NFP organisation. This is the easiest auditing gig in the world. We have zero complexity to our operations – it’s straight-up expenditures and income (grant/donations), kept in an online ledger.
In addition to auditing, we would welcome someone who can provide advice to our board on better practices as we expand our operations and (possibly) seek charitable status.
You don’t need to be in Canberra to undertake this role.
