About the organisation
Vision:
To eliminate preventable lifestyle related disease in the future generation.
Mission:
Teach 2.2 million Australian primary school children the skills they need to eliminate their risk of developing preventable lifestyle related diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, strokes and certain types of cancer. We believe that healthy and happy kids become healthy and happy adults.
Who we are:
We are a social business, comprised of a team of experiences educators, health and business professionals that are committed to tackling a huge social problem; preventable lifestyle related disease.
What we stand for:
- Teaching wellbeing as a skill.
We believe that knowing and not doing, is the same as not knowing. We prioritise action over knowledge, thereby addressing the knowledge action gap, as we teach wellbeing as a skill that can be implemented in anyone's life.
- Equal access – no one misses out.
Often wellbeing programs, due to various barriers (e.g. funding, staffing) don't reach the children that need it the most. We will demonstrate immense creativity, innovation and resilience to ensure that no primary school child misses out.
- A tailored approach – we provide the 'puzzle pieces'.
Every primary school has unique and specific wellbeing needs. We will create content and resources that meets these needs. Each of these 'pieces’ of content and resources form the 'pieces of a wellbeing puzzle’. Eventually, we will have all the pieces to the big wholistic wellbeing puzzle which will allow us to provide each school with the 'pieces’ they are missing.
