Arts Project Australia, a creative social enterprise that supports artists with intellectual disabilities, promotes their work and advocates for inclusion within contemporary art practice. Arts Project Established in 1974 as we have continually been a leader and innovator in the arts and disability sectors.
We were the first full-time art studio for artists with an intellectual disability and over the past 47 years have built an enviable reputation nationally and internationally for the creative and individual studio philosophy, as well as the outstanding artwork produced there. We engage and collaborate with arts organisations, galleries and individuals across Australia and beyond and have been a best practice role model in promoting the rights of people with disabilities to participate fully in the visual arts.
Our studios are based in High Street, Nortfhcote and our gallery at Collingwood Yards (since March 2021)
About the role
Development Manager – Part-time (.5 FTE)
Arts Project Australia is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic development expert to join our team. This is a significant new role supporting the next phase of development and growth for Arts Project Australia, a creative social enterprise that supports artists with intellectual disabilities, promotes their work and advocates for inclusion within contemporary art practice. Our future proofing strategy will see the establishment of the APA Foundation and the development of our annual giving program.
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will plan, develop and implement an ambitious annual giving program to assist in expanding our strategic and financial goals, working with a team of creative professionals in our artist studios and gallery.
You will have demonstrated experience in a similar fundraising or partnership management role, preferably within the not-for-profit or arts sector, and a demonstrated track record in developing, driving and implementing successful fundraising and donor acquisition strategies.
You will be creative, energetic, flexible and an excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative team.
