The Organisation

The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. (also known as Foundation House) provides services to advance the health, wellbeing, and human rights of people of refugee backgrounds in Victoria who have experienced torture or other traumatic events in their country of origin or while fleeing those countries. 

Our purpose is to be a leader in delivering specialist trauma-focussed services that work with the strengths and resilience of refugees, their families and communities, to rebuild lives shattered by torture and other traumatic events.

The organisation was established in Melbourne in 1987 and is non-denominational, politically neutral, and non-aligned. A state-wide agency with over 200 staff, we offer services in metropolitan, regional and rural areas. Head office is in Brunswick and regional offices are in Dallas, Sunshine, Dandenong, and Ringwood.  

About the role

The role of Executive Manager Strategy and Program Integration (EMSPI) is a new position that reports directly to the CEO. The EMSPI will be a member of the Agency Management Team which is the senior leadership group responsible for the implementation of all services and operations needed to meet the needs of clients, their communities, staff and the organisation as a whole. They will lead the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan, help to strengthen the integration of Foundation House programs and secure the resources needed to sustain the organisation’s future.

About you 

You are an experienced and highly effective strategic leader with executive level experience with knowledge of and expertise in developing and consolidating key internal and external stakeholder relationships. You have excellent strategic planning acumen and expertise, and demonstrated experience in communicating positive culture, team leadership, overseeing successful service delivery and change management.

Knowledge and experience in working with services for trauma survivors, and an understanding of the psychosocial impact of trauma on individuals, families and communities particularly with people from refugee or similar backgrounds will be highly regarded.

With outstanding interpersonal skills, you bring a collegiate and highly ethical approach to your leadership and your contribution to the organisations’s executive. You also have a strong commitment to human rights, and a demonstrated ability to advocate on behalf of the organisation for our clients and their communities.
