About the role
We are seeking expressions of interest for our board. Collectively, the board will guide us through our new strategy. We are seeking to appoint 3-6 non-Executive Directors, including the roles of President, Secretary and Treasurer.
We are looking for:
- commitment to Farmer Incubator’s values and mission
- the ability and willingness to devote the necessary time to the role of Director
- strong skills in communication, relationship building and the ability to work in a team
- experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Strategy
- Finance
- Fundraising
- Communications
- Governance and risk management
- Legal
- we would highly value people with knowledge of agroecological, organic, regenerative and/or small scale agriculture – and are seeking to have at least one Director with this background
About the organisation
Farmer Incubator is a non-profit organisation seeking to change agriculture, by helping to create a new generation of Australian farmers who are driven by values of ecological sustainability and community.
Our organisation is small but complex and likely to grow. We are currently finalising our first organisational strategy. Over the next few years we will likely aim to:
- Pilot and disseminate approaches to supporting aspiring farmers at all levels
- Expand our programming to new locations
- Advocate for uptake of farm incubation approaches
