About the role

  • Based in Wangaratta or Wodonga
  • 12-month fixed term project
  • 0.9 – 1 EFT 68.4-76 hours per fortnight

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System in 2021 recommended the establishment of 8 Family and Carer-Led Centres (FCLC) across the state as part of a suite of mental health reforms. The Centres will provide a service to the families, carers, kin, and supporters of those who experience mental health challenges, psychological distress, mental illness or substance use issues.

This fixed-term position will work in collaboration with local mental health carers, the Gateway Health Project Control Group (GH-PCG), Tandem, and the Department in the establishment and opening of the Family and Carer Led Centres (FCLC) and outlets across the Hume Region.

The Project Manager may have lived or living experience as a mental health carer, family member or kin. They will lead the project ensuring the service is co-designed and directed by local mental health carers and that the diverse needs of all carers in the Hume region are considered. This role will create both a strong sense of ownership by local mental health carers of the centres and will support the development of a distributed leadership/governance model. This model will ensure the FCLC will continue to be responsive to the voice of local mental health carers and their needs, and that the FCLC lived experience workforce will remain supported.

This large-scale project will require: stakeholder mapping and engagement, activation of a volunteer recruitment strategy, recruitment and training of staff, development of centre and practice guidelines and policies and procedures, development and strengthening of local referral pathways, provision of an inclusive of stakeholder engagement and communication strategy, the collaborative development of the Carer Leadership Capabilities Framework and activation of the associated development plan.

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Project Management, Social Sciences, Health and /or Management discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and /or education/training.
  • Proven project management experience in delivering projects demonstrating experience in identifying risks in project and working with risk management approaches and mitigation strategies across multiple stakeholder complex business environments
  • Sound experience in delivering quality operational and business outcomes in line with the direction of the organisation
  • The ability to work autonomously

Classification Level 6
