About the organisation
HOTA, Home of the Arts is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to fill the role of Director Gallery and Visual Arts. As the Director, you will provide strategic and creative leadership for the Gallery and Visual Arts within the HOTA Precinct. You will play a vital role in setting the curatorial vision to deliver an outstanding contemporary and engaging visitor experience. As part of the collaborative executive leadership team, you will contribute to the development and execution of innovative strategies to enhance cultural content and new and loyal audiences.
About the role
• Collaboratively setting the curatorial vision for the HOTA precinct, delivering exceptional exhibitions and engaging visitor experiences.
• Planning and executing major national and international temporary exhibitions, exhibitions based on the permanent collection, art prizes, and public domain activations.
• Overseeing the professional operations of HOTA Gallery and the management of HOTA’s Art Collection.
• Nurturing and developing key stakeholder relationships including industry colleagues and organisations, artists, community members, and business and philanthropic partners.
• Leadership for the Gallery & Visual Arts team.
To be successful in this role we anticipate that you will have extensive leadership experience within a gallery or cultural institution built on your passion for Australian and International art with a deep understanding of curatorial practices and proven successful history of the delivery of innovative programs and exhibitions. Strong networks and connections within the arts community, corporate and philanthropic sectors are likely to have underpinned your success along with your ability to set and manage budget and resources.
