About the role

True Relationships and Reproductive Health (formally FPQ, established over 40 years ago) are looking for an additional Finance Officer who is reliable, both system and process oriented, with an eye for detail and who is team focused and a relationship builder.

This is Permanent Part Time position (22.5 hrs a week neg.) working as part of a small stable competent and friendly Accounting Services team, offering flexible hours with up to $18,400 of salary that can be tax free, subject to salary packaging benefits for Non-for-Profit Organisations.

Reporting to the Manager – Accounting Services you will be required to perform a variety of routine transactions to support the accounts payable, accounts receivable, assist in financial administration of  Government and non-government project grants, general banking and reconciliation functions.  You will need to have prior experience working in an accounting team environment and have the ability to balance priorities, maintaining accounting records, processing daily transactions and performing associated reconciliations and seeking improvements in business processes, working “on” systems and not just “in” systems.

Key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Daily raising invoices for all internal/external clients and ensuring income from invoices are correctly distributed.
  • Receipting daily income.
  • Daily processing of purchase orders and payment paperwork into the finance system.
  • Weekly run of creditors payment using the finance system and bank interface systems.
  • Maintaining the debtor/creditor records within the finance system, updating details, to ensure the records are kept complete and accurate.
  • Assist and backfill on financial administration of specific government grants, including record keeping, filing, acquittal reporting and audit preparation
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, journals and accruals that relate to both the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.

True offers clinical services, education, information and a sexual assault service across Queensland from its offices located in Brisbane, Cairns, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Toowoomba and the Gold Coast.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Nationally Recognised Qualification equal to Certificate IV in Finance preferred or substantial experience.
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and sound financial reasoning and analytical abilities.
  • Self-starter attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work as a team player along with an interest in the group’s overall performance.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Attache’ software experience preferred but not essential.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite, including excel, data entry and word processing.
