Organisation Name : The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre

 

We are a client-centred organisation, supporting the community throughout Barwon, Wimmera, and the South West regions, offering a specialist range of support services to all people impacted by sexual and family violence, encompassing 24 hour crisis response, case management, therapeutic counselling and group programs, early intervention programs, refuge and housing support, legal services, professional training and primary prevention initiatives, along with the delivery of the Victims Assistance Program for Barwon South West.

About the role

 

We currently have an opportunity for a proactive Support Worker to provide individualised and tailored practical supports for women, children and young people in refuge and crisis accommodation, who have experienced and/ or are currently experiencing family violence.

This position is instrumental in delivering high-quality, safe and effective family violence and child well-being responses to those seeking support, safety, and recovery. The role consists of causal rostered hours of work including sleepover, days, weekends and public holidays.

 

About You

With degree or working towards a qualification in social work, welfare or psychology, you have demonstrated experience in assessment and risk management, safety planning and crisis accommodation support.  You thrive working autonomously and in a dynamic team environment, with the ability to prioritise competing demands. You will be a values-driven person, motivated to make a difference and hold the client at the centre of everything you do.
