About the role:
  
A rare opportunity is now available for an experienced and motivated Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) to join the Head Office Team in Pennant Hills, 2 days per week on a fixed-term contract for 6 months with potential view to be extended.
  
The main objective of the role is to support the CatholicCare Communications & Engagement team to lead and implement strategies to strengthen the relationships between CatholicCare, our local Parish communities and our Catholic School families.
  
Key responsibilities:

  • Work with Executive Manager, Communications & Engagement (in collaboration with Excelsia College Masters in Social Work students) to embed a special project at Ku-ring-gai Parish to support senior parishioners ensuring they are connected to community to improve their wellbeing. 
  • Promote the breadth of CatholicCare services to local Parishes and Catholic Schools. 
  • Work with the Communications & Engagement team to source relevant content and secure space in bulletins, newsletters and across social platforms. 
  • Build awareness of the need for foster carers within local Parishes and Catholic Schools. 
  • Assist with the promotion of the annual Diocesan fundraiser.
  • Assist with launching Home Care Packages into Parishes.
  • Identify and recruit volunteers across our Catholic Schools and Parish communities and map to the business needs
  • Promote CatholicCare career opportunities to parents and parishioners.
  • Represent CCBB at our Catholic School open days, fetes and promote our ELCs, OSHCs, vacation care, playgroups and parenting programs to schools (and where relevant parish) families etc.
  • Identify needs and opportunities for new programs within our Parishes and Schools.
  • Other suitable duties as required from time to time to support the service within skill set, knowledge and scope of the role.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Familiarity with the Catholic Church and its structures.
  • Knowledge of local community issues, or a willingness to network to assess local community needs.
  • A passion for making a difference and improving the lives of others.
  • Experience in the education or community services sectors, or community engagement experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable and proven capacity to work both as a part of a team, and autonomously.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Current NSW Drivers licence and access to an insured vehicle.
