About the role

Imagine a Queensland where every individual affected by domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV) has immediate access to compassionate, expert support. This vision is being brought to life through two transformative initiatives: the Commonwealth Government’s 500 Worker Initiative and the DFV Practitioners in Police Stations Initiative. OnTalent, in partnership with a range of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and key community service providers across Queensland, is committed to advancing these critical efforts.

About the Role:
As a Specialist DFSV Worker, you’ll provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive counselling and support to clients who have experienced domestic and family violence or sexual violence. Your responsibilities will include comprehensive risk assessments, safety planning, crisis support, and referrals to additional services. You will collaborate with community sector partners, including the Queensland Police Service, to improve outcomes for individuals affected by violence.

Why This Opportunity?
For those contemplating a role as a DFSV worker, the potential to make a profound difference is a compelling motivator. This position is far more than a job; it’s an opportunity to transform lives, offering a vital lifeline to individuals. As a DFSV worker, you become a beacon of hope, guiding and supporting individuals helping to restore their sense of safety and dignity.

Diversity and Inclusion:
We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and individuals with disabilities. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels respected and valued.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Qualifications in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills.
  • Experience in providing trauma-informed care and understanding the complexities of domestic and family violence and sexual violence.

At OnTalent:

At OnTalent, we pride ourselves on working closely with each candidate to find an ideal role that aligns with their skills, passions, and career aspirations. We understand that every individual has unique strengths and preferences, and we are committed to matching candidates with positions that not only meet their professional goals but also resonate with their personal values and desire to make a difference. Through personalised consultations and a deep understanding of the DFSV sector, we ensure that our candidates are placed in roles where they can thrive and make a meaningful impact. Whether you are seeking a challenging new opportunity or looking to leverage your existing expertise in a supportive and impactful environment, OnTalent is dedicated to guiding you through the process and securing a role that truly fits what you are looking for.
