About the role

SPDL is looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Intern to join our team for a 6 months internship. This is a non-paid part-time work experience internship. Future paid part-time or full-time opportunities may become available.

 

In this role you will have the opportunity to work on various projects and gain firsthand experience in the field of social media marketing management. You will work closely with our team to create and execute social media strategies, produce high-quality content, and analyse performance data to help guide future marketing decisions that primarily drive fundraising and volunteer recruiting.

In this flexible role, the ideal candidate should have exposure to marketing through studies or past roles, as well as through their own profiles. The right candidate should have a passion for creating high-quality content that is engaging, compelling and innovative.

You will be reporting primarily to the Volunteer Program Coordinator as well as other team members.

If you have a flare and passion for creating engaging content for social media, and an interest in helping to support the community with your talents while gaining related work experience, then this internship may be for you!

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and producing marketing campaigns across different social channels.
  • Assist with the execution of marketing campaigns across all social media channels
  • Help to plan and build content publishing calendars in line with the overall marketing strategy
  • Create (draft, format, edit and publish) both image and video-based content for our online properties including website, news, stories, and other social content), so familiarity with related tools, and emerging trends is a definite asset.
  • Assist with photography/videography production
  • Assist with coordinating PR activities
  • Maintain databases and compile report

Desired Qualifications

  • Positive, proactive, mature and driven approach.
  • Detail-oriented, innovative, and creative-minded.
  • Must have content creation background for various channels and formats (graphics, video), and be familiar with emerging trends.
  • Work well collaboratively within a team to learn, and open to take on new tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure on occasion.

Education

  • Diploma (Preferred)

Experience

  • Digital Marketing: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Social media management: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Content creation: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Graphic Design: 1 year (Preferred)

Language: Fluent English (Preferred)

Work Authorisation: Permant Residents and/or have unrestricted right to work in Australia (Preferred)
