About the role

The Philanthropy Officer plays an important role in engaging and supporting AMCS’ highly valued donors to fund our critical work, which involves taking action on the big issues facing our oceans.

In this role, you will coordinate and provide administrative support to our philanthropic fundraising programs, including those for mid- and major donors, business supporters, grants, and bequests.

Your work supports the recruitment and engagement of AMCS donors by ensuring the administration of records, processing of donations, and communication with supporters is delivered efficiently, effectively and in a way that inspires ongoing financial support for our vital marine conservation work.

THIS ROLE INVOLVES:

  • Providing administrative support for the Philanthropy Team to support various relationship-based philanthropy fundraising programs.
  • Processing donations and issuing receipts as required for philanthropy programs.
  • Data entry of valuable supporter information, communications and preferences.
  • Conducting funder, donor and supporter research.
  • Coordinating administration for all third-party philanthropic platforms and websites.
  • Handling philanthropy program inquiries sensitively and respectfully in a timely manner via specific programmatic email inboxes, phone lines and message banks.
