We are currently seeking expressions of interest from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas to fill 2 current vacancies, with 2 more positions becoming vacant in 2026 due to term end:
🔹 Board Chair
We are seeking a senior leader with:
- Strong governance and strategic leadership experience
- Ability to guide a collaborative and values-led Board
- Well-established networks and a commitment to social impact
🔹 Board Member – Finance/Governance Focus
We welcome candidates with:
- CPA/CA accreditation or equivalent financial expertise
- Experience with financial oversight, risk, and audit
- Previous governance or Company Secretary experience highly regarded
Other valuable skills include: philanthropy/fundraising, human resources, and legal expertise.
We particularly encourage applications from individuals with lived experience of the justice system or who represent the communities we work with—including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people of colour, and people with disability.
Commitment & Meeting Schedule
Board meetings are held bimonthly, with sub-committee involvement between meetings.
All roles are voluntary and supported with onboarding and access to relevant governance support.
About the organisation
WAM is a not-for-profit organisation that supports women and non-binary people who have had contact with the criminal justice system. Our early intervention mentoring program is built on dignity, respect, and hope—offering the support people need to reintegrate and build safer, more connected lives.
