About the role
Volunteer Board Director – Pines Learning Incorporated
Location: Doncaster East
Commitment: approx. 2 hours every two months for Board meetings plus 2 hours for preparation and follow up, plus an hour (on average) for committee involvement.
Closing Date: 5pm, Sunday 10 August 2025
Pines Learning is seeking a passionate and community-connected individual to join our Board of Directors. We are a not-for-profit organisation delivering adult education, community programs, and early childhood services based in Manningham.
We are seeking applicants who have:
- Governance or leadership experience
- Professional expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Accounting and finance (preferred)
- Managing people and leading change
- Industry knowledge (adult education, vocational training, or early learning – highly regarded} especially in not-for-profit settings
- ICT governance, privacy, data management, and cybersecurity (highly regarded)
Responsibilities include:
- Attending regular board meetings (7 x 2-hour meetings per annum)
- Supporting strategic planning and governance oversight
- Contributing to decision-making that enhances community impact
- Upholding fiduciary, legal, and ethical responsibilities as a director
Prior board experience is welcome but not essential. We encourage expressions of interest from people of all backgrounds who bring a passion for equity and lifelong learning.
