About the role
What you’ll be doing
- Provide one-on-one or small group support with homework and study tasks.
- Encourage students to build confidence and independence in learning.
- Model positive study habits and communication skills.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Work alongside staff to ensure sessions run smoothly.
Skills and Experience
- Patience, empathy and good communication skills.
- Ability to explain ideas clearly at a primary or secondary school level – and if you don’t know, that’s okay – you just need to know how to find out!
- Reliability and commitment to attend regularly. If you can’t make all of the sessions, that’s okay – just let us know in advance.
- Experience supporting young people (formally or informally) is an advantage, but not essential.
