Volunteer Treasurer – Board of Management
Moongala Women’s Community House (Bentleigh East)

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your financial knowledge to a much-loved neighbourhood house that supports predominantly women, families and the broader community through inclusive programs, connection and lifelong learning.

About the Role
As Treasurer, you will provide financial oversight and guidance to ensure the sustainability and good governance of Moongala. You will:
• Review and present monthly financial reports
• Oversee the annual budgeting process (in consultation with the Managers)
• Monitor financial performance and identify emerging risks
• Ensure appropriate financial policies and processes are in place
• Contribute to strategic discussions and decision-making as part of the Board

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone with:
✔ Experience in bookkeeping, accounting or financial management
✔ The ability to interpret financial statements and explain them clearly
✔ Sound judgement and a collaborative approach
✔ A commitment to community values and social inclusion
Not-for-profit experience is welcome, but not essential.

 

Commitment Required
Approximately 2-4 hours per month (includes monthly evening Board meeting held both face-to-face and online, and time to review reports/preparation).
