About Sindhuli Community Technical Institute:
The Sindhuli Community Technical Institute is a new tertiary college that has recently been built to assist farmers and engineering enterprises in the local area. The role will be based in Nunthala village, Sindhuli District, Nepal. This region is close to the borders with India, Tibet and Sikkim, has a moderate climate, beautiful people, and is close to road access to Kathmandu, the Nepalese capital.
About the Opportunity:
An exciting challenge and opportunity to shape the college along the lines of an Australian TAFE college. You will be involved in all facets of the college
- General Management and set up
- Supporting set up of curriculum,
- Finance,
- Business planning,
- Human resources-recruitment and development of staff,
- student administration and enrolments
About you and what you’ll bring to Sindhuli Community Technical Institute:
We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starting, resilient and adaptable individual to lead the Institute
Specifically you will have
- A resilient, tenacious and self-sufficient approach. The role requires someone who can effectively be their own boss, to help create a unique education facility.
- Exceptional leadership qualities – people want to work with and alongside you
- Strong influencing skills- this role will provide unique and diverse challenges that will need to be overcome
- Proven commercial thinking and business acumen – you know how to successfully run a small organisation
- A teaching or learning curriculum background
- An ability to foster long-term partnerships with key stakeholders- local and international
- An ability to respond quickly to opportunities or threats and influence others regarding their urgency – you keep your finger on the pulse and respond appropriately.
- Compassion and conviction towards the students, staff and community – you truly care.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Ideally previous experience in an overseas posting in a developing country
- At least 3 to 5 years in a General Management or Senior Management role
- Business or Education qualification
- Demonstrated experience in building productive, cohesive teams that have commitment to deliver services and outcomes.
