About the role
The Chief Operations Officer works alongside the CEO, and the 2 roles form the Executive Team of Asha HerSpace. This role is for a highly skilled individual with impeccable organisational and leadership skills who is driven and motivated to succeed and contribute with initiative to our organisation. This position is an amazing opportunity for anyone who is passionate about women’s equality and rights, wanting executive leadership experience, particularly in the competitive non for profit sector.
**Commitment to a minimum of 12 months in this voluntary role is essential, with the hope for a 2 – 3 year duration in the role**
The CEO is responsible for developing the strategic direction of the organisation in collaboration with the Board of Director’s, and will draw on the knowledge and expertise of the COO in doing so, working as a team. The CEO also fills the position of HerSpace program manager, and oversees the program management, supervision of employees, program development and research, monitoring and evaluation toward best practice of all Asha’s HerSpace direct services. The CEO also oversees awareness raising and partnership building with funders, community service organisations and advocacy bodies.
The COO works to compliment the CEO’s role by overseeing all of the operational aspects that keep Asha HerSpace running organisationally including finance, HR, communications and fundraising. The COO will work in collaboration with Asha volunteer team members. The role is very hands-on, and not purely a supervisory one, due to the limited hours of Asha volunteers overseeing each area of operations. It is therefore a combination of delegation, leadership and operational implementation.
