About the role
Established in 1982, iCARE (www.icare.org.au) supports education programs in disadvantaged communities in India, Kenya, the Philippines, and Uganda. Our programs seek to: help more women, children and youth from these disadvantaged communities to receive an education; help schools in these communities to improve the quality of education they provide; help students from these communities to achieve their full potential at school; and help improve the livelihoods of community members.
We are seeking a dynamic Fundraising & Marketing Manager to:
• grow and diversify our supporters (donors and non-donors)
• grow our revenue and diversify our revenue streams
• increase and strengthen our profile and brand.
This is a challenging but fantastic opportunity to ‘make a mark’ and create a legacy for a small NFP which has done excellent work for over 30 years.
Since its inception, iCARE has benefitted over 15,000 women, children and youth. We have helped to transform for the better the lives of people like Dorothy Nalwadda in Uganda and Princess Michalla Bautista in the Philippines, as well as improve schools like the Piave Youth Polytechnic in Kenya and the Neelbagh School in India.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for:
• implementing and further developing the fundraising and marketing plan for iCARE
• strengthening existing relationships with existing supporters
• establishing and strengthening new networks and partnership opportunities
• developing, planning and implementing fundraising and marketing activities, events and programs
• identifying and pursuing grant opportunities
• establishing and implementing a bequest, workplace giving, and major gifts program
• building and implementing a cause-related marketing program
• implementing a social media program (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), and
• managing volunteers from time-to-time.
This is a 4 days a week role which may require attending after-hours events from time-to-time.
The successful candidate will be on a 6 month contract, with the possibility of extension.
The ideal candidate will have:
• minimum 3 years of experience working in similar role
• demonstrated success in raising funds and business development
• demonstrated success in establishing and strengthening relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to encourage ongoing and increased support
• ability to work independently and within a small team environment
• strong time management, organisational and problem-solving skills
• excellent initiative
• exceptional communication (writing and oral) skills;
• strong research and analytical skills;
• experience in delivering high performance results on a sustained basis working with limited resources.
