The Macquarie Group Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Macquarie Group. It helps to strengthen the communities Macquarie staff live and work in by facilitating thousands of hours of staff volunteering and pro bono programs each year with community organisations around the world.

Macquarie employees and the Foundation have also given generously, resulting in more than $A270 million donated to over 2,500 organisations globally since 1985.

Our pioneering approach to philanthropy has funded a range of novel approaches to community issues, including cutting-edge research, establishing awards and fellowships to encourage innovative thinking, seed funding organisations with new ideas, as well as collaborations between non-profits with shared objectives.

For more information and news articles about the Foundation’s community activities and grant partners visit www.macquarie.com/community.

Staff Volunteering

Macquarie Group helps strengthen the communities Macquarie staff live and work in by facilitating thousands of hours of staff volunteering and pro bono programs each year with community organisations around the world. In 2016, staff donated more than 46,000 volunteer hours.

Each year, outstanding staff contributions to the community are also recognised through our Staff in the Community Awards. Individual winners and team awardees receive $A10,000 to donate to the non-profit organisations they support while the office winner receives $A20,000. Highly Commended awards of $A2,000 are also given.

Grants

The Macquarie Group Foundation’s key objective since its formal establishment in 1985 has been to support non-profit organisations within the communities Macquarie staff live and work.

Many of our grant partners, in addition to receiving a Foundation grant, benefit from fundraising and volunteer support from Macquarie staff, regular donations made through the Macquarie Giving program and have a Macquarie staff member serving on their board.

This is an enduring feature of our Foundation and it enables us to build deep and long-term relationships with innovative and well-run community organisations around the world.
