REA Group (ASX:REA) is a leading digital advertising business specialising in property. Listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in 1999, the Group operates Australia’s No.1 residential and commercial property websites, realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au, as well as the market-leading Italian property site, casa.it, and other property sites and apps across Europe, the US and Asia.

At REA Group, who we are and how we do business is as important as what we do. Our Purpose is to empower people by making property simple, efficient and stress-free and we want to deliver on that for everyone.

We believe sustainability is everyone’s responsibility and we are working towards adding more social value to local communities, building on our engaged and inspired workplace, empowering the marketplace and reducing our environmental impact.

Leadership Team

REA Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Tracey Fellows, is responsible for the Group’s operation across Australia, Europe and Asia. Ms Fellows has eight direct reports on her Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Information about REA Group’s management team can be found here:

Employee Giving

REA Group matches donations made by employees to registered charities (capped at $500 per employee per annum and a total company cap of $50,000 per annum). Employees can donate to more than 1000 registered charities (or multiple charities) out of their pre-tax salary via payroll.

Staff Volunteering

All REA Group employees have one day of paid leave to volunteer in a community or conservation activity of their choice. REA Group is also the first corporate in Australia to have created a volunteer leave bank, to enable people to take more than one day if they want to. Each year, the company wide allocation of volunteer leave is placed into a bank and when applying for leave employees simply take a day or more from the bank.  When the bank is empty, employees who haven’t taken leave can still take a day of paid volunteer leave.

Grants

Our Employee Community Grants provide funding to support community groups our people are passionate about, to an amount up to $1,500. It’s simple, each year REA Group will award 60 community grants which meet the criteria outlined. It’s first come, first served, so the first 60 applications that meet the criteria will be awarded.

Partnerships

We are proud to have partnered with HomeGround Services to establish a national Rapid Rehousing Fund to help divert women and children away from homelessness and into housing that is safe, secure, affordable and permanent.

We are also subscribers of The Big Issue Women’s Subscription Enterprise, which sees 100 magazines delivered to our people and stakeholders each fortnight, providing job opportunities for homeless, marginalised and disadvantaged women

Each year, REA Group also supports four national charity fundraising campaigns focused on preventing and addressing homelessness, which are selected by our Charity Crew and Champion network. The fundraising campaigns selected for 2015 include: Red Cross Calling; Homeless Winter Appeal; Hack it Forward; and The Smith Family Christmas Appeal.

Environment

At REA Group, who we are and how we do business is as important as what we do. We have a sustainability framework which highlights four pillars, which includes reducing our environmental impact, having an engaged and inspired workplace, an empowered marketplace and adding more social value. As part of that, we want to have less waste and less impact on climate change, more innovation and collaboration for conservation and enable sustainable property choices.

Recycling

REA Group encourages employees to think about their waste with four separate waste streams: paper and cardboard, bottles and cans, organic waste, and general waste. In April 2015, we undertook a waste audit and found an average of only 4 per cent contamination in the three recyclable streams. We also educate our people on reducing their impact with a focus on reducing waste.
