Human Rights Arts & Film Festival

Details

The Human Rights Arts & Film Festival (HRAFF) is a not-for-profit arts organisation that explores diverse and inspiring human stories through the mediums of film, art, music and forums. HRAFF inspires and engages audiences with social justice and human rights issues via an annual festival and year-round through our CineSeeds program, our online networks and partners. HRAFF is an independent organisation which is not aligned or affiliated with any political party or religious group.

OUR MISSION:

Artists and creatives have always been at the vanguard of social change – we rely on them to hold a mirror to the uneasy truths of our times and reflect our stories. Sometimes those stories are uncomfortable, sometimes they’re challenging, sometimes inspiring, sometimes hopeful – but they are always on HRAFF’s radar to showcase.

That critical intersect of creative cultural expression and the bold and brave storytelling of the artists, film-makers, musicians is the heart and soul of what the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival is all about. It’s why we exist – engaging and inspiring audiences on human rights issues through art, film, music and conversation, which flows through to the partnerships and relationships that we nurture.

THE FESTIVAL:

In the lead up to its milestone 10th anniversary, HRAFF continues to provide a platform whereby creatives, organisations and the Australian public are brought together by their common desire to contribute to social change.

HRAFF will be touring nationally from May to June 2017.  HRAFF is committed to improving the accessibility of the festival for all festival-goers. Click here for access information for 2017.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival is located – the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respect to them and their cultures, and to their elders both past and present.
