About the role

Ryde Family Services (RFS) is a dynamic and growing organisation that provides early intervention and prevention services to the community of families and individuals specifically in the areas of family and parenting support, homelessness and domestic violence. Ryde Family Services provides support in the form of case work, counselling, advice, referrals, advocacy and group work.

Working closely with the Management Team of RFS, this role is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of our Family Support Services. The Program Manager will manage a case load of clients; provide leadership and supervision, and ongoing training & development support to ensure the continued growth and development of the team. This role will need to understand and confidently sell the benefits of the organisation’s services within the sector and possess the skills to actively seek organisational development opportunities.

Salary will be in accordance with SCHADS Awards 2010; Level and Grade in accordance with applicant’s skills, knowledge and experience. There is generous packaging available for this role.

The RFS office is located at West Ryde with outreach services delivered from Eastwood and St Ives.

Essential Criteria:

  • University qualifications in social work/psychology or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of a team within a community organisation and working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and development of staff teams including the facilitation of group training.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff clinical and administrative supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience in a strengths based, solution focussed approach to working with families.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and in developing, writing proposals and reports to funding bodies.
  • Demonstrated experience in meeting deadlines and balancing competing priorities.
  • High level interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with a range of external stakeholders.
