3MBS is a member of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA).
About the position
Reporting to the General Manager, the Fundraising Manager position is broad based and highly interactive with both internal and external groups. You’ll be responsible for a range of revenue generating activities, including:
• Developing a new or reviewing the existing fundraising strategic plan.
• Maintaining strong relationships with current donors and ensuring their retention or increased value.
• Proactively identifying, and creating opportunities to secure new donors and income from other fundraising sources.
• Proactively identifying, researching and submitting grants, trusts and philanthropic submissions to target funding bodies.

• Managing bequests and with sensitivity, discretion and diplomacy.
• Initiating new and innovative fundraising activities and events.
• Managing existing fundraising activities and events and maximising their financial contribution to the station’s revenue.
• Working collaboratively with station volunteers and staff to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.
• Keeping accurate records and files, both in electronic and paper formats.
• Ensuring all fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation and ethical standards.

About you
You’ll thrive on fundraising and have at least 3 years experience in this field. Here are some of the other attributes you must already have:
• Commercial acumen
• Proven fundraising experience and driven to achieve goals
• Event management experience
• Some knowledge of philanthropy, public giving and donors
• Innovative and energetic
• Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to connect and motivate people at all levels of the organisation for fundraising events
• Well organised
• Able to manage sensitive issues with external stakeholders when required.
If you have experience in managing bequests and also have worked in a volunteer or not-for-profit organisation, that’s an added bonus. And of course, if you have a passion for fine music, this position is a great cultural fit for you!
