ABOUT THE ROLE
The Projects & Communications Executive plays a critical part in delivering the Opera House’s Philanthropy program by:
- Creating and delivering clear, consistent, and compelling messages that enable the Philanthropy team to acquire, develop and secure relationships with Major and Annual Gift donors and secure gifts;
Developing and executing donor projects aligned with the Opera House’s strategic priorities, including those enabled by individual Major Gift donors and by both Major & Annual Gift donor-interest groups; and
- Building efficient systems to track & manage leads & prospects to enable the Philanthropy team to identify, qualify, cultivate, track and report on acquiring prospective and upgrading existing Major & Annual Gift donors.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in roles with comparable responsibility;
- Demonstrated high-level writing, editing, and publication design skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise and compelling messages, and to present information and data in a concise, logical and coherent manner;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and streams of work simultaneously and effectively, and to address the needs of stakeholders while meeting deadlines in a results-driven environment;
- Experience and demonstrated success in philanthropic fundraising and/or prospect management;
- A strategic self-starter, able to set own priorities, work independently, and exercise appropriate initiative under broad direction from management;
- Able to negotiate conflicting priorities, use flexibility in problem solving, and work collaboratively across teams to achieve strategic objectives;
- Articulate, with excellent oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
- Professional, sophisticated and welcoming to donors and to external and internal stakeholders, able to represent the Opera House to the required standard in those dealings, even under pressure;
- Clear ethical standards and ability to deal appropriately with the confidentiality and privacy issues associated with donors; and
- A genuine and broad interest in the arts and social investment
